The Fireweed 400 is Alaska’s only RAAM qualifier.  There are several events other than the 400 mile race.  I did the new 200 mile/300K 2 day Tour and had a BALL!

This picture was taken after my absolute favorite ride ever. I was visiting my buddy in Northern California and he took me on a killer mountain bike ride though pristine Redwood Forrest. I will never forget that ride. It started hailing about 15 minutes before we got back to the road, which was covered when we reached the car.

It was unforgettable. Siberia is a country one cannot forget! Enormous distances, unspoiled wilderness, drinkable water from the lake, just enough people, so that you can feel safe. People there say riding a mountain bike in winter on a 1,5 m deep ice is a fantastic experience. My husband and I wanted to try it once! Aug. 2008.
